Bowles Family Scholarship

The Mike Bowles family was active in School District 9.  Kathy, the wife of Mike, was an elementary school teacher within the district for many years.  Both children, Brent and Wendi, attended K through the 12th grade in the community.  Mike taught Vocational Agriculture / Horticulture at Eagle Point High School from 1971 until his retirement in 1999.  He was also an active advisor for the Eagle Point FFA Chapter for all of those years.   

The family has expressed a desire to help a student pursuing post-high school education in either a Mental Health or Medical Imaging program.

To Study: Any approved program of study.

To Attend: Any accredited vocational school, community college, four-year college or university. The school must have federal Title IV designation.

Open To: Any current-year Eagle Point High School graduate, GED recipient, Charter School graduate, or home school graduate who resides and will graduate within the boundaries of School District 9 is eligible to apply.  The recipient must be enrolled in a program leading to a career in medicine, with preference given to students pursuing Medical Imaging or a career related to Mental Health.

Selection Based Upon: The scholarship award will be based on merit, classroom and related performance, grade point average, and involvement in other school and community activities. Financial needs may be used as selection criteria.  Applicants must complete the EPHS Local Scholarship application available from the Eagle Center, or online, and submit it prior to the deadline to be considered for the award.
